How long will my dog’s appointment take?
Grooming times vary depending on your dog’s size, coat type, coat condition, and temperament. Most appointments take between 2–3 hours. I always work at your dog’s pace, prioritising their comfort and wellbeing.
Why do prices vary?
Prices are based on your dog’s size, coat type, coat condition, and behaviour during grooming. Dogs that are matted, heavily shedding, or require extra handling may cost more than the starting price.
What if my dog is matted?
Matted coats take significantly longer to groom and can be uncomfortable for your dog. In some cases, matting may require a shorter clip for your dog’s welfare. Additional charges may apply for severe matting, and this will always be discussed with you.
How often should my dog be groomed?
Most dogs benefit from grooming every 6 to 8 weeks, though some breeds may require more frequent visits. I’m happy to advise on a grooming schedule that suits your dog.
What vaccinations are required?
All dogs must be fully vaccinated. Puppies can attend from 12 weeks once vaccinations are complete.
Why can’t my puppy have a full groom straight away?
For young puppies, grooming is a completely new experience. Jumping straight into a full groom can feel overwhelming and may lead to stress or anxiety. Puppy sessions allow grooming to be introduced gradually, helping your puppy build confidence and trust at their own pace.
Your puppy’s comfort and wellbeing always come first. A calm, confident dog is far more important than a perfect haircut.
What if my dog has skin problems or allergies?
It’s very important to disclose any veterinary information, allergies, or skin sensitivities before your appointment. This allows me to choose the safest products and grooming methods for your dog.
I offer a range of sensitive shampoos and conditioners suitable for many skin conditions. If these are not suitable for your dog, you are welcome to provide your own products for the groom.
We can discuss the best approach for your dog when booking, ensuring a comfortable and safe grooming experience.
What happens if I can’t make my appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to offer the slot to another dog and keeps my schedule running smoothly. Appointments not attended without notice may incur a cancellation fee.
